Thanks Terry, I never thought of that.....BUT, weren't aluminum 1964 dollars/patterns minted (JFK-?) and passed around congress.....in which some weren't returned? (It figures.) I think Dan's going to run into a little trouble on this coin IF anyone tries to spend it. Of course, who would use a $100+ coin for a $1 purchase? Maybe kids raiding their parent's collection?

Goose, the story you are referring to is the 1974 aluminium cent that examples were passed around to members of congress, some of whom kept them.  One was authenticated by ANACS a few years ago and the Feds have never gone after it.
