Oh and I saw a chinese film the other day  lp man , a kungfu master story in occupied china

The flemish translation said the chinese won the war in 1945 after the unconditional surrender of Japan
That is what the history books will say 50-100 years from now . Huh

But in the case of the gold Sackies they didn't sell them like they should have.  Only the government porkers got them.  I am sure Clinton must be playing pocket hockey with a golden Sackie puck.

Nothing new
Same as the 1933 double eagles
For a free state your leaders sometimes act very strange ( like forbidding gold)

I believe it is wrong for US mint to make these elite coins and not sell them to collectors.

All world mints are going of their rockers and making things that are either unobtainable or triple the price they should be. We are now where postage stamps were in 1970
If you buy you may loose any appreciation in real inflation indexed money forever  Huh

Water in the moat ?  Huh Grin
Water is a precious commodity : better have vats of oil sitting on the rampart ready to heat; pour and fire . I believe Florida is giving away oil  Cool

In open forums guidelines have to be very clear.

I stopped posting in many a forum because posts were deleted for no legit reason
like saying were you can find a free flash blocker.
On the other hand in one forum a boy said my avatar made him puke and that was
allowed by the mods .
If you open up this forum be prepared for deleting people and not only posts in massive
quantities

It is not clear why the lion needs a sword ( perhaps somebody know ? )
...

The lion-and-sun symbol is a Turko-persian symbol, astrological in origin, and swordless lion-and-suns can be found on coins dating back to the Crusader period. The sword was added to the Persian national symbol sometime in the early 1800s. Originally it was the Zu’l-faqar, the Sword of Ali (founder of the Shiite sect); the lion holding it symbolising the power of the Shiite religion and the Sun represented the King. As the monarchy became secularized and europeanized, the sword was kept but the official meaning of the sword changed, emphasising the power of Persia's military forces.

Thanks
I am more acquainted with the French and walloon Rooster as symbol of prowess
Flanders has a Lion too ; standing up and clawing (flemish anthem)

You forget the favorite sport of the Romans was to see the catholics being eaten by Lions
The Romans must have known lions before the year zero
I seem to recall lions on medieval heraldic patterns ( in countries that new Romans )

Belgium has the lion on many coins ; and yet it is strange since the flemish anthem runs something like " They will never tame the proud flemish lion as long has he got claws and can claw"

20 francs Leopold II 1882

In theory the "old" category for melt contains three queens and two kings but forget to ever get a Vicky for melt plus 3%

If you click on the small picture you get a somewhat larger picture
Due to the exchange agents network in Belgium nearly all of the remaining
exchange agents sell and buy gold at the prices here announced which change
continuously

This is a typical "old" sovereign going for the same spot plus 3% price as the new sovereign
Little edge nick pushes this 1914 into MS63
