Well I have managed 3 buys of the week, thus far, and I didn't feel any pain when I did it. Being tighter than the bark on a tree I am very content and patient to play the Ebay game until I get what I want at my price! (Well sometimes!)
I have managed to win two auctions for Roman ancients in VF condition this week and both coins cost me, with shipping, a total of $11.00. I don't mind spending $5 to $6 for coins that were hammered just a couple of hundreds year after Christ was born! Can't wait to get them to see how I really did?
Also the People's Choice Award for the annual COTY awards has been announced. It was the 2006 Hungarian 50 Fornit, which I did not have, but I immediately went to Ebay and located a seller who would sell me an unc. for $3.50. It is now on its way to me.
For those of you who do not know what the COTY Awards are well they are the COIN OF THE YEAR AWARDS which are given annually for various catagories, such as best design, most traded, most historical and ect. The awards are given two years behind so that all nations have the opportunity to be involved so this years awards are for 2006 and I go out of my way to make sure I have a couple of winners each year in my collection. Usually I already have one or two but this year I may have got stumped but will not know for sure until the other winners are announced in Germany. Lots of fun to watch and to see how my taste may differ from the rest of the world!
I am still working on some other ancients as I have made up my mind to start around 600 B.C. and work m way forward every century. Want a nice circulated coin as cheaply as I can put this set together. I am on my way!!!
