Title: 2007 mint set help
Post by: dustin43160 on October 16, 2007, 05:23:41 PM
hi have a few questions about the 2007 mint sets. would it be worth buying it now or will they drop in price later this year and early next year? on the mint set coins are they really uncirculated?? or are they just thrown in a bag like the circulation peices and then slapped in a mint set folder?
thanks in advance

dustin ;D

Just as long as they do not run out before you buy.

I always get mine quick just in case. (Australian Mint Sets)

You do not see Proof coins in circulation but you can see uncirculated sets broken open and the individual coins sold or spent.

I have found two proof coins in circulation, a 1988-S quarter about 10-12 years ago, and then earlier this year a 1981-S cent.

I don't think there is any danger of 2007 proof sets dropping in prices any time soon as they will forever be known as the largest proof set ever minted by the U.S. Mint and the First Year of Issue for the Presidential Dollars. It would be best if you go ahead and get them now in my humble opinion. The 1999 silver proof sets have ran in the $300  range for months now and I don't see much of a break on those due to the fact it was the First Year of Issue for the Statehood Quarters!

I would love to find a proof coin in circulation.

But, never have, and I doubt that I ever will.

I've found quite a few proof coins in circulation.  I can't see that there's anything special about them after they've been kicked around for a number of years.
I don't keep them any more.

I get the mint and proof sets each year, I have proof sets from 1955 to present and mint sets from 1959 to present.
Some go up and a few go down.
