Apparently because koalas are solitary animals, there is no collective noun for a group of koalas. Live in 'colonies'.

Well a colony of Aussie 2008 Koala's now reside in Indiana! Just got them this morning and must say I am ver please with the quality and eye appeal. These may catch on real quick with the collectors of the world.

That is what I received (the full ounce) so now I have to go about rustling up some 1/2 ouncers for my herd, er....I mean colony! Nothing like the shine of new silver!!!

That looks very much like the one that was in a tree near my back door late last year. There was another down by the back creek but they didn't speak to each other. They come around about every three months so if anybody wants an autograph just let me know. I don't think I will buy the coin, they are much more beautiful in the flesh.  regards, |

Terry, Part of your colony would be welcome in western Colorado, if you feel you are being over run. The picture which was posted doesn't show up on my computer. Any chance of posting another one? I have one Koala, but it's put away. Must have been the 2007 one ounce version. I would sure like to see the 2008 coin.  |

Well a 1/2 ounce Koala (50 cents) as finally made its way into MY koala colony here in Indiana. Great looking fifty cent piece that mirrors the larger full ounce coin. My problem, at this time, is this little 1/2 ouncer seems so lonely and I know what has to be done about that! More half ouncers will have to join the colony in the near future!!!

I've got a real live 20 pounder sitting in a tree outside my back door at the moment, mostly doing nothing.
If you like, I will ask him if he would like a trip to Greensburg.
Actually it might be a she, Hard to tell at 40 feet up a tree.

Well if it is a girl, lets just keep it between you and I as Old Dan will want her sitting on his side of the table too!!! I don't think that little fellow would appreciate whats coming, weather wise, to my neck of the woods but I could always keep her here in the house as I am sure my wife wouldn't mind? With my luck the Koala would probably get to stay inside and I would be outside in the shed!!!
