Wife of Marcus Aurelius
Orichalcum sestertius
VF, 23.266g, 31.2mm, Rome mint, 161 - 175 A.D.
Obv: FAVSTINA AVGVSTA, Draped bust right
Rev: FECVNDITAS, Fecunditas standing right holding scepter in right and infant in left.

Faustina II was daughter, wife and mother of emperors and empresses.
When she gave birth to the first of many childred she was given the titla os Augusta,
which for a time, made her superior in rank to her husband.
She was a devoted wife and mother, and accompanied her husband on all his
military campaigns.
