Very impressive Nighthawk. I've always wanted a coin from the 1700's, but don't have any yet. I do have some ancients that are older of course. But I really want one with a date, from the 1700's. Thanks for sharing.

The only early coins I collect are early English coins prior to 1899.

Have to set a limit somewhere (So my wife tells me)

Thanks for the nice comments gentlemen! I was just thinking that some of these coins were manufactured before George Washington or Napoleon were even born!! What a wild century that was! The French Revolution, the American War of Independence and so on.... I think I would like to have lived back then! It must have been neat! But that's one of the cool things about coin collecting.... you're holding a piece of history in your hands and wondering about where that particular coin has been since it was made (not to mention the art work!) !!!    Smiley  Smiley  Smiley
