Until today my collection didn't include German coins from the Nazi era.

Thanks to Barry Murray (bm1947) I now have four.

Barry sent me a bronze 1938 2 Reichspfennig; an aluminum bronze 1938 5 Reichspfennig; an aluminum 1939 50 Reichspfennig; and a silver 1939 2 Reichsmark.  All were minted in Berlin.

Thanks so much Barry!!

No worries happy to help out.

Now you just need to collect the whole series from each of the 7 mints.  Some are easy to find and others very hard.

I agree but someone need to preseve the history of what happend and this can be done with coins as well.  The coins have the swastika on them.

I really dislike the Nazi stuff, but I believe by preserving it, we keep the horrible memories of what happened alive, so that it cannot be forgotten.

As a collector with an interest in attractive women or girls on banknotes, I had to have this particular note:

Austria had previously printed but not yet issued a 100 Schilling note in 1938 with a young Austrian woman holding an Edelweiss flower, this design impressed the powers that be in the Reichsbank enough that they selected the design for the 20 Reichsmark note issued the following year in 1939. This note circulated along side the 20 Reichsmarks note with Von Siemens on it P-181 up until 1948 when the Reichsmark was replaced with the Deutschmark.

While one may despise the maniacs that issued this note, it still is a beautiful note if you forget the two swastikas present on it.  The Austrian Miss is very similar to Austria P-101, and in 1947 Austria issued another similar note.

My Father was one of the many U.S. soldiers that when they invaded Germany they destroyed much of the German money!  Man...sure wish he'd pocketed some of it!  Darn! Cry

My Grandfather spent the whole bleeping war guarding some remote western Hawaiian Island, whilst his brother did Normandy, the invasion of Germany etc.  And he was in good with the Quartermaster and brought back a shipping container full of trunks of booty.  He gave a couple of trunks of fascists swine stuff like flags, military uniforms, coins etc. to my Grandmother, and she didn't want it so she put it out by the curb on trash day. Shocked Angry  What she had would be worth many many thousands of dollars now.
