Thank you Erik. Silver and copper are my favourite coin metals. The older the coin, the better. I just wish that the dark copper coins cooperated with my camera more than they do, so I could post up the other half of my collections. |

I really like that purplish-brown of Canadian large cents. Very nice grade too--XF45 perhaps? I think this might be the "bold date" version for that year, which carries a bit more value.  |

It is the same opinion as my. I think they are favorite coin metals for many collectors. Unfortunately I very hard obtaining similar coins. It is very good idea post up the other half of your collections. I will anjoy.  . When I cannot have nice coins in my collection I am happy to see ones in collection my friends. KurtS : I admire as differences you see on coins. |

I might add--these older large cents aren't difficult coins for many of us to get. If anyone overseas wants one, I have some extra Australia or Canadian large cents they're welcome to. |

Kurt, thank you for that picture of the different dates! I've never been much of one for collecting varieties, but if I can find them I will. I'll check the other 1901s that I have, to see if I've got them both. And thank you again for the variety Aussie ha'penny! That one is fantastic. |

Ellekitty, you're welcome! I was lucky enough to run across a cache of pennies where I found 6, so I was more than happy to share. The diagnostic photo is from Pierre Charest's Canadian coins and varieties. The e-book is very nice resource to take screen shots, but unfortunately it's no longer made. |
