I was looking forsomething for a coin collecting colleague and I came across these two coins in one of my many boxes. The Indian Head is one of first coins I ever collected. I've must of had it for nearly 40 years. I new it was around somewhere I can't recall where I got either coin from. Yes Terry, there are buffulos in OZ. 1935 Indian Head Nickle Phillipines 1913 20 Centavos

Hey Gary, If I remember correctly I lost those two buffalo nickels and my drivers license on my last trip to Colorado. Not sure where the buffalo nickels got out at but the drivers license was in or around Estes Park, Colorado. It is such a miracle that someone found PART of my lost items!!!
If you buy into this I have some swamp land and a gold mine I would like to sell!

ooh, Estes Park! Gary, can you tell me if the Estes Park Brewery is still alive and functioning up there? They had the loveliest Blueberry Wheat microbrew I've ever tasted, but that was nearly ten years ago. I've not heard hide nor hair of the brewery since my last trip to the Rockies.

Terry, I thought you told me you had never been to Colorado! Kitty, Can't answer your question. We venture to eastern and north eastern Colorado occasionally, but not often, and don't stay very long. While we feel the most beautiful areas of the state are in western Colorado, the Estes Park area is lovely.

Huzzah! That's one place I'd love to go back and visit. It's been well over ten years since I last trekked to Colorado, and I say another visit is well over due. My favourite place is a little town called Salida, but we headed north to visit the Mint, and the Rocky Mountain National Park- which is how we discovered the Estes Park Brewery. Thanks OldDan!

CC, I spent six weeks living out of a school room in Salida, doing my Geology Field Class. We drove all over the place, seeing geological formations and stuff. Most of it was in Chaffee county, but also Fremont and Gunnison. I did get to Ouray, I'm pretty sure. I'm proud to say my feet took me to the top of a fourteener! Mt. Antero. Picked up some aquamarine pieces to prove it.

So thats why the mountains are getting smaller? Us flatlanders keep taking the rocks home!!! Yes, Gary I have been to Colorado and yes Gary I DOOOOOOOOO want to come back!!! Been 12 years since my last trip and, as I have said, I have never been in your neck of the woods, so to speak. The Rockies are the only place I have ever seen where you can shoot a whole roll of film standing in one spot and never take the same picture twice! Love MY mountains!
Maybe in the next couple of years we can ALL meet somewhere in the Rockies and freeload off of Gary and Old Dan. I know Old Dan has a barn or shed we could sleep in!

Kitty. It is a small world. Salida is a nice place. I'll bet you went rafting while there. I spent three years in Gunnison, getting my B.A. and M.A. Lots of pretty areas between Gunnison and Salida. twoshadows, I had forgotten you had been to Colorado. All we have to do is pick a place midway between Old Dan and I, and get together!!

*Grins* Yes, I went rafting one weekend while there. I'm trying to remember. Brown's Canyon?
Most evenings I spent in a little bar, playing pool and drinking way too much Coors'. That's probably why I can't remember.
