I would love to see the mint do something really really daring, and mint each and every one of the coins in silver - including the cent and the dollar coins.

You want to see a really nice sterling silver (92.5% silver) proof set where even the cent is silver? The 1974 Belize proof set...1c, 5c, 10c, 25c, 50c, $1, $5, & $10 are ALL STERLING silver coins containing 3.08 ASW. Now why doesn't the U S mint make something like that? I guess that they are stuck on the old designs.....

I admire the ingenuity of Monnaie de Paris In 2007 they made a 5 euro goldcoin 1/20 of an ounce and with the same lettering and the same design but another reduction and another mould they made a half ounce goldcoin eliminating all design costs . The half ounce they sold at 500 pieces only and the usual huge markup . I had to do the research cause ebay is offering 5 euro half ounce goldcoins which I thought did not exist .

The gold would be ridiculously expensive for most collectors, but silver is the way to go, they look nice too.

They are more than stuck on old designs, they are stuck in their rectums.

If any of you bust open 2009 proof sets I would really like to purchase the Lincoln cents! All four of them as they are copper and its been a long time since we had real copper cents. Just give me an email and a price!
