After seeing what we had to go through to get our paws on the 2009 Lincoln Kentucky Birthplace cents I have decided to rally the troops and make the journey south to the release ceremony at Lincoln City on May 14 for the second coin in the series. I NOW expect a huge crowd due to this recent lack of distribution. I have yet to see a new cent here in Indiana and prices are now climbing on the Birthplace P.
Looks like I will have to leave the night before so that I can be the first desperate collector in line when the cents go on sale. It must be MY turn to have a little fun on Ebay!!!

There's an awful lot of coins out there still.

How very odd.  My husband is bringing home 6-10 of the new Birthplace cents a day from where he works.  They appear UNC, no toning, no tarnish and no fingerprints.  I figure a prudent acetone bath will keep them that way.

They are all D mint only, though.  It takes up to 20 years for P mint coins to circulate all the way down here, I swear.

Elle, Maybe you could hang on to some 2009 Lincoln Cents for the KOTCT Store?

I think there'll be plenty of us that want them.  Wink

Everyone keep in mind the second Lincoln cent has been released and a great number of members would like to have them if you stumble on to a source. I may, if needed, buy some for the KOTCT store if the opportunity arises. Will keep you posted on what becomes available. Until then look for those shiney uncirculated coins in your change and at your places of business. FREE is much better!
