Here's the link to the Perth Mint.  Cheesy I got one at issue and paid $20 extra at a dealer, only to find that my regular Post Office had them a issue.  Angry

Another lost post:  I replied that the 2001 coin, shown by ElleKitty, was the $1 issued by the RAM for the centenary of the Australian Army.  They alos released two other $1 coins, for the Navy's 90th and Air Force's 80th year

I did reply to this, but the post vanished.  This Florin represents the first visit to Australian by Elizabeth II as Queen, hence the Roo and the British Lion.

With regards to the change, it is much easier to use Dollars and cents then pounds shillings and pence.  I think it was Nevol who posted a great video, on the aacoincommunity site, that told the story on the why and wherefore for the change.

Rusty:  nice coins!!

I'm over 50 now and the eyes really dimming but " I'm not sure which mint it is. Can you tell me?" really looks like a 3.5 claw to me

That is a nice pick up! I used to find a few nice coins when I exchanged 20 cent pieces with the bank.  Only do $1 now, they are lighter and the best I have found is a nice good EF 1992.  No mules but.

No probs, pleasure, just helping out where I can. Been in Perth Sun-Wed with a work conference (no chance to see anything but) Smiley.  The tacking of insured parcels to the USA can be tracked using:

I did this when one parcel took forever to get there

Terry as per car racing I do not know, but the US has a fantastic history, prior to car racing I would suspect. It mind boggling with Australia with a population of 21M to see the population of NYC at 19M.

Every week or so, my Wife empties her purse of coin and I go through to see if there are any decent oddities.  Last night, I turned up a 1997 10 cent piece in good EF.  These are listed at around $60 in UNC.
