With regards to the change, it is much easier to use Dollars and cents then pounds shillings and pence. I think it was Nevol who posted a great video, on the aacoincommunity site, that told the story on the why and wherefore for the change.

That is a nice pick up! I used to find a few nice coins when I exchanged 20 cent pieces with the bank. Only do $1 now, they are lighter and the best I have found is a nice good EF 1992. No mules but.

Terry as per car racing I do not know, but the US has a fantastic history, prior to car racing I would suspect. It mind boggling with Australia with a population of 21M to see the population of NYC at 19M.
Every week or so, my Wife empties her purse of coin and I go through to see if there are any decent oddities. Last night, I turned up a 1997 10 cent piece in good EF. These are listed at around $60 in UNC.
