I just found this article, on the RAM site, about the unveiling of the design for the new Scouting $1 coin.
Hopefully it shouldn't be too long before we can acquire some.

Looking forward to seeing the design! Don't guess there will be much chance of a Roo in a scout uniform? You ought to be thankful I am NOT designing your coins for you!!! A Koala would be cute too!

Terry, this is the best I could do. His name is Hairball.

Our local Joey group (6 -8 years old) designed this about 12 years ago  , when my Daughter was a member and my Wife was a Joey Leader. It has since become adopted my all Joey Scout. Feel free to color it in LOL

I went to the official launch today and got 3 Scout $1 coins.  They do look great "in the flesh".

While I was there I also bought twoo Scout PNCs.  They have the 50 cent piece in them.  The design is very similar to the $1 coin.  I asked the designer Caitlin Goodall to autograph them for me.  For good measure I asked the former Governer-General Sir William Deane to sign one to.  He has had a long involvement with the scouting movement.

The circulating coin will be released some time in April.  There will will be RAM rolls.

P.S. Caitlin also signed a peace-keeping dollar for me, which she also designed.

P.P.S What a lovely person... young, unassuming, attractive and obviously quite talented.

While on the subject of the Scout $1, some of you may also wish to consider the Scout $5 proof.  They're a bit pricey at $65, but there will only be 5000 minted.

Danny, it looks like we might have to wait till April to get those circulated $1 for you.

I'll grab you some as soon as I see them.

If you still have no mail please post again. I have one FDC for you and one FDC and PNC for Snooba.
That is the end of the FDC but I can still get PNC.
