just finished reading the whole mob of remarks and stories and etc here, I am impressed and heartwarmed as though I was in Green bay for the playoff games again this year. I truly love reading you all and your opinions and looking at the lovely gold coins and I might say I will see if the German Ebay is what you say. I will also try to post some pictures of some american gold, big and little. Just remember, Bush is from Texas, and we all like it big over here.

On a German forum there are those that confessed they are lickers ; well I mean they determine by their tongue the quality of the alloy Back in the good old days there were those who used the technique of nibbling or biting to determine gold from lesser forms of metal. Why not do an experiment to determine which is the best way? You go first! The oldest goldcoin I have is not very old ; it is pre revolution France It was bitten The bite did not show on the pic but there is one tooth identation quiet visible The guy must have only one tooth left Lucky for the coin and me

At least the French know what a tongue is for, canna say that for the Germans.
I think you overrate the French The only thing they tought me was how you taste wine first on the tip of your tongue and then on the back etc allthough soixanteneuf seems to be of french origin it is the french word for sixtynine

The german ebay has routinely 5000 offers in the gold coin category and they have weekly those 5 ounce Monnaie de Paris goldcoins with limit production of 99 only Beware this can be addictive and harmfull to your wallet short term (hopefully not long term )

Watching a couple of Danish 20 Kr from 1873-1874 on an auction this week. I like the maiden and dolphin design on the reverse, just wish I could find one of the Danish West Indies 10 Kroner coins from 1905, expensive but lovely.

Do you have a picture to show those coins? For some or other reason Danish Coins are never cheap compared to other world coins I am switching to silver cause at 1000$ an ounce gold is getting expensive and 95% of the coins being offered are let's say common or teeth or jewelry or nuggets of the nuggety kind etc

I acquired accidently this silver coin five ecu El Ingeniosa Hidalgo Don Quijote de la Mancha 1994 I spend sunday afternoon and this afternoon to explore the bounderies of my scanner and photoshop The only bounderies are my patience This first pic is totally unretouched and took a few minutes which for a scanner focussing inside a plastic holder is remarkably good

With the Head I had a lot of trouble since the high relief in the plastic allways came out with yellow red blue rainbow scattering I had to desaturate the pic to black and white and then resaturate the background to blue etc

Not a bad scan considering it was done through the plastic, also like the Gaudi lettering on the one side.
