They will be from the USA, four from the Philippines, two from Netherlands, one from Hong Kong.  After these October purchases I have imposed a moratorium on new purchases.

Here is the Dutch treat, one I have looked for for a long time...

The design of this note dates to 1919 and was used also on the 100, 200, and 300 Gulden denominations. The smaller denominations with this design were only issued into the mid-1920's but this 1000 Gulden design continued to be issued up through the 1938 issue of this note. The lovely design, combined with very fine engraving and earthen colours make for a note that is not outwardly attractive on the surface but very difficult to forge. This note is P-48.

I will image the Philippines notes later, they are the Bank of the Philippine Islands issue of 1928, very elusive and a type set no less.  Going out with a bang.

None of my business.  And, I'm not asking.  But, you must have thousands of dollars invested in notes!!

My goal in 2009 is to divest of much of my rather sizable coin and banknote collection and devote much of my energy and resources into philanthropic pursuits in E. Europe.  I will miss collecting, but I believe philanthropic pursuits are much more rewarding and satisfying.

Most of this stuff sits in sundry safety deposit boxes in several banks and rarely is seen.
