n keeping with the theme of artwork by painter Jens Juel, this 500 Kroner note was first issued in 1974 with a portrait of Franziska Genoveva von Qualen, a noble lady from Holstein, Germany. The original artwork is in a museum in Ahrensburg, Germany. This note is P52d.

The reverses of the notes are indeed fascinating, from the Danmarks NationalBank website:
