Sometime in the late 1970's or very early 1980's Komori Machinery Printing Co., Ltd of Japan printed a unique test note for distribution to potential printing contracts. This note exists in several forms, two are depicted here. This first note has the second print, but not the first or underprint.
For a subject they elected to depict Princess Grace of Monaco, aka Grace Kelly. She was in my opinion one of the loveliest Hollywood actresses ever, and at the pinnacle of her film career she met and married a real Prince, Prince Rainier of Monaco. She thus gave up all the Hollywood fame and traded it for the responsibility of being a real Princess, wife and mother. Tragically this lovely Princess's life was cut short in an automobile accident in the French Riviera in 1982. The reverse has a vignette of the Grimaldi family palace in Monte Carlo.
