I got 5 x 2008 $1 Mob of Roos today, despite the fact that the Circulation coin for 2008 is supposed to be the Scouts Dollar.  Obviously there's going to be 2 circ $1 coins this year.

Well done, Nancy. I have only just finished finding the 2007 coins. Finally started too see the 50c.

I got one more 2008 $1 coin on Tuesday & got 2 x 2008 20¢ today.

scored 4 x 2008 20cent coins from the medicare office ;D

Got 1 x 2008 MOR in change yesterday. Haven't seen any other 2008 denominations as yet

I got my very first 2008 Lincoln Cent yesterday. Took long enough to see one.

2 Oklahoma states quarters P mint. Still waiting to find 1c, 5c, 10c  :'(

I scored pretty well at my local supermarket on Saturday.  I saw a lot of shiny coins in the till so I asked for $20 in coins.  I got 10 x $1, 2 x 20¢ & 1 x $2.   ;D

Went back the next day & not a shiny coin to be seen. Even had one lady go through her till & zero.  Mind you there were about 8 registers operating, so I was in the right place at the right time on Saturday.

I find the Oklahoma quarters daily, but don't see any other 2008 denominations.

Checking my change everyday. Statehood quarters are no problem but just now seeing 2007 circulating coinage. No Aussie change in my pocket thus far! Seems the Aussie state of Indiana is always last to get new coinage! ;D

Only one 20¢ so far!

I've sort of stopped counting the $1 & 20¢, have about 15-20 of each.  Also have 4 x $2.  Got a 2008 MoR Rabbit last night.

Hooray!  I finally found my first 2008 $2 coin!

I found my first 2008 $1 MOR today.

Picked up another 3 X 2008 20 cent coins over the weekend.


Also now have 20 X $1 MOR coins in plastic security bag (replaced rolls).  No wonder coins have a lot of bag maerks these days.

Totted up my 2008 coins found so far:

$2 x 10
$1 x 32
20¢ x 16

Nearly all with heaps of bag marks.   :'( :'(

As humpybong said, rolls have been replaced with plastic bags in Qld so we just have to put up with the bag marks, or try to buy unc ones from wherever we can source them.

I wonder if Yass might be able to get some rolls in his neck of the woods?

Let me assure you, my lack of 2007 and 2008 rolls is not for lack of pestering my friendly bank teller.  They'll turn up sooner or later, I have no doubt. And I'll be pulling them apart for the CH Unc or BU as or overseas friends refer to them.

Yass, I knew you would've been trying to get some rolls. If you do manage to score some, would you consider selling a couple of each denomination?  Even just 1 roll of each would do. I would be extremely grateful.

It appears there may be nothing but those horrible plastic bags from the security companies in Qld. I can't say I've seen a decent 2008 coin yet. Bag marks all over them.

I've had 1 x 2008 $1 that came from the Bank, all the other 2008 coins I have came from change in shops.

I'm working on cultivating a friendly Bank teller at present, but last time she looked for new coins, there wasn't a roll in the place. Which Bank?

Local bank still getting rolls here. :D Don't know for how long. ???
I will ask my tame teller to keep an eye out and, if any turn up, let you know.

Ny first 2008 $1 in Sydney CBD

I haven't found any 2008 yet, but I did snag a bag of 2007 $2s.  Happy to send you a roll, but they are $50 each  :-[ :-[ :-[. Send me a PM today, otherwise the remainder of my rolls will be opened tonight.  I have a revolving few dollars for purchasing coins for noodling and my wife insists I put it back regularly.  If I want lunch and dinner, I must comply LOL.

Finally!! A couple more 2008 coins have appeared.  I wonder when the 5¢ & 50¢ will be released.

Got my 1st 2008 Scouts $1 on Thursday & my 1st 2008 10¢ yesterday.  The Scouts $1 is pretty well dinged already.

My son picked up a 2008 scout dollar for me at school in change for his lunch. My first scout dollar! No 2008 50c, 20c, 10c or 5c yet.

"I" got my first 2008 MoR $1 out of circulation this past week.  ;D  Or rather, my friend Matt found one for me and is holding it back. :)

2008 20¢ are quite common now in Brisbane. I've been rejecting quite a few due to poor condition.

The MOR $1 and the $2 have slowed down somewhat, only getting a few each per week.  I got my 2nd Scouts $1 last night.

I too have found my second Aussie 2008 scout dollar from circulation. If someone stateside would like it I am happy to swap for any circulated Sacagawea dollar or Anthony dollar (or any other face value swap).

I'm MORE than happy to trade my 3 spare Scouts for erm three Morgan dollars :D Not sure how thats fair though :D

Found another 2008 scout dollar today and this one has a nice rim cud from 6:00 o'clock to 7:00 o'clock. Has anyone else come across this error?

RE 2008 circulation coins, so far I've got 3 x $1 Scouts, 4 x 10¢ & 1 x 5¢.  ;D  The 5¢ has the really tiny 'SD", which I believe is going to be standard now.

I've stopped counting The MOR's, & 20¢, too many of them. Got a few $2, but they're not showing up in large numbers yet.

Still no 50¢ though.  They can't be too far away.  ::)

I finally have a couple of Scout dollars, or had I should say, one is now on it's way to Egypt.

I get about $1800 of rolls each week to search through for errors.  I occassionally get a sack of new rolls.  I have not yet found any rolls of 2008 $1 or 5 cents.  I haven't found any 2007 5 cent pieces either.

An Aussie forum member sent me 3 rolls of 2008 $1, so at least I have them put away.  I haven't been concerned about the Scout $1s because those rolls can be bought from the mint at a (fairly) reasonable price, although they're too expensive to buy and open  :P

I do however have about $400 of unopened 5 cent mixed rolls that may yield 2007 and or 2008.  They're simply so time consuming to check each coin.  ::)

Last week I got $200 of 10 cent pieces. Every roll was 2008.  I kept a few with head/tail combinations and opened nearly all the others.  Rolls can produce some wonderful coins.  The 10 cent rolls yielded about 30-40 Choice uncirculated and about the same number that had a die clash on the obverse.  By CHU I mean that the coins have no discernable bagmarks seen through a 10xloupe.  After two days searching I'm generally going blind  :o

I have 767 rolls put away for a rainy day.

Gee Yass, you need to get a hobby or something to get away from all that work  ;D

Finally found a 5c and 10c today. Both from the local milk bar. Only the 50c still to be seen.

Hmm.... Could I have one of each CoinCrusader? I'll give you another Scouts to make it fair.. :)

Coins found in circulation? Does 'roll hunting' count? I went to 3 local small banks asking for 1/2 dollar rolls (U S) to look through. None of the 3 had any.....they don't stock them. Then I went to a large bank in an adjoining town and picked up 2 rolls (40 coins). I found (2) 1966 40% silver halves in the 2 rolls. After a week or so in spending the halves, I now picked up 3 rolls of halves. Findings? (2) 40% silver halves and a 1943 (P) W L half. I'll pick up 3 more rolls today to see what I can find. Heck, finding $11 of silver content in just $2.50 worth of halves suits me fine.

Erm.. I have three 08 Rabbit ears now.. :D I think they are fairly common... Or maybe I'm just lucky.. I don't know.. Suits me fine either way.. :D

Justa, you're lucky!  ;D  I haven't seen any 2008 Rabbits reported antwhere for ages.  I did get 2 (or 3) very early, but I haven't seen one since. 

Plenty of Scout $1 turning up.  Nearly all 2008 coins now appearing, just 50¢ still missing.

I just scored two yesterday.. :) They are kinda tricky to find from half a metre looking down.. Just a little extra something to see behind the ear.. I think I may have missed a few last time.. Maybe :(

Yass had some in rolls, but he's misplaced them.

Have found them again.  I had/have stored them offsite.  The problem I have is that I haven't opened any to look for chu unc.  I am therefore reluctant to open a roll just yet.  I did sell a roll at our last onsite auction though.  Stay tuned, I will eventuall open a roll.

Don't take too long, I'm hanging by my thumbs ;D
