Very nice coin, Kitty! I have a few in my collection, and I think they are the most beautiful coin produced by the U.S. Mint. Even in lower grades they still retain some beauty! Another great coin I really like is the Buffalo (oops! I mean Indian Head five-cent coin to all you purists out there!) It's another beautiful design especially in high mint-state grades. Own a few of those too! Cool Cool Cool

Hi folks! I have to agree with longnine009, most of our leaders today (democrat, republican, or whatever) "AIN'T WORTH 10 CENTS", and I will say the same for the JUNK the US Mint has been putting out the last couple of decades-J-U-N-K!!! That's why I collect mostly foreign coins and currency. There's so much nicer stuff out there to collect than the junky (ugly?) coins we have to use every day. Also about Andrew Jackson: he sure ain't no pretty-boy Floyd, but methinks the mint could do a better job of portraying one of our greatest presidents! Nuff said! Grin

Hi Kitty! I like the fractionals, but especially the $10 note. Notice it has a numeral for the Federal Reserve bank branch instead of a letter. Pretty cool! Cool Cool Cool

Nice notes, Kitty! I actually have one of the 1870 date, (P-8a.)  and 2 of the 1900 date, each with a different signature. Your's is signed Boville, which makes your note P-9b. I have that one, and also P-9a, signed by Courtney. The only one I'm missing is P-9c, signed Saunders. Can anybody help me get that one? Thanks. Wink

Glad you like them, Tobyle, but I'm not finished yet! Keep checking back every so often, as I will try to post new notes when I get the chance. Thanks again.

Really cool Notgeld! I have hundreds of them, large and small. I usually pay about 50 cents a piece for them when I can find them. I collect them because there are so many different kinds and they are so colorful. A really neat piece of history!

You collect birds on banknotes, and I collect the attractive feminine vignettes:)  Gees these things are only getting more costly.
Grandpa always told me that paper money was for the birds.... you can see I didn't listen!!! P.S. -You missed a good show at MSNS!

Good morning everyone! TKO has given me access to the Gallery so I can post some world banknotes there. I thought I'd start out with one of my favorite topics: BIRDS. I will try to add to the gallery daily, so please check it out every so often, as there may be some new stuff you may not have ever seen before. I hope it will be enjoyable for everyone. Must go now. Off to MSNS show to look for more notes and maybe....Huh nighthawk
