He is my latest win from e-bay.

A medal for Europaische Parlament, rather nice looking in 3 different metals.

"The European Parliament"

The European Parliament is one of 5 head organisations of the European Communities and since 1979 it is elected every 5 years in a general, free BUT secret ballot.  Before 1979, e.g the years 1952 till 1979,
members were selected by the parliaments of the nations they represented. The European Parliament is seated in Strassburg (France), additional seats are in Brussels and Luxembourg. The in the individual nations existing political directions reflect themselves also in the politial fractions of the European Parliament. There are members from 8 political parties as well as a large number of independants.
On July 20 - 2007 the European Parliament was elected for the 6th time since its inception and the number of representatives amounts to 732.  Upon accepting membership of Romania and Bulgaria, in January 2007, that number has now increased to 785.
The European Parliament is so to speak the House of Representatives  of the European Union. There is also a Senate, although both houses have less influence in Europe than their counterparts in the nations they represent.

Don't you wish they new back then what we know now.   We would have many more great coins saved.

But then as you said money was short so everything was spent.    sigh!

There are some very nice bi-metallic coins around including Euros and fantasy coins.

There are a number of 'home made' coins and medals as well.

An encased 1913 Australian Shilling to celebrate ANS Centenary 1913-2013.

I collect bi-metallic coins and tokens from around the world and believe me there are thousands of them going back many years.

My latest but is a tri-metallic medal that is still to be received.

Russia and Thailand have a number of modern issues.
