For those interested in Aussie PNCs - AND those who are after a 2007 unc MOR $1 Coin, this is the link to the latest catalogue from Australia Post. From the description of the PNC, it doesn't appear that we will have a 2007 MOR $1 issued for circulation

Hi Tobyle,
The MOR $1 was available in the 2007 mint set. Unless you are a PNC collector the mint set would be the alternative way to collect the coin, but to each their own I suppose. Thanks for the info and cheers.

Hi Rusty,
Yeah, I know the MOR $1 is available in the unc mint set - Probably didn't word that very clearly - was actually trying to point out that it doesn't look like there will be any 2007 MOR $1s going into circulation. Also, for those who only collect our dollars, it is a cheaper alternative.

I don't care what I have to rip the Mob of Roos out of!!!  I just need to know how many years the $1 Roo was and is available regardless of whether it is unc., out of a mint set, out of a special set or out of a proof set!!! Don't want any Roos slipping by me. And, for what is worth a really GREAT Aussie has already sent me a 2007 Mob of Roos! Now I am wondering how many I have actually missed through the years?

The circulation issues are, 1984, 1985, 1991, 1994, 1995, 1998, 2000, 2004,  2005, 2006, 2007.
Unless I am mistaken, the rest are NCLT and consist of, 1987, 1989 and 1990. Cheers.

Thanks Rusty! Now I will have to do a little digging to see where I actually stand with my collection.

The 1991 Mob was not actually issued for circulation. It was available at the Mint from the Visitors Gallery "mint your own" presses and in the Uncirculated Mint Set.

All of the above years and 2008 are also available in Aluminium Bronze Proof finish with the 2004 proof being a hologram image (very nice). From the Wedding sets you can get 2004, 2006, 2007 and 2008 in Brilliant Uncirculated (specimen) finish. You can also get Sterling Silver Proof Mob of Roos for 1990 and 1991, Pure Silver Proof for 2004 and 2006 and Pure Gold Proof for 2006. There is also a Pure Silver 40mm proof dated 2004. In 1988, an Aboriginal Art style single Roo was issued for the Bicentenary of European Settlement. This is also available in proof. And sterling silver proof in two dates, 1988 and 1990. Another stylised mob of roos in pure silver date 2004 has a wavy or scrolly twelve pointed edge/rim.

Happy collecting.

Oh, I forgot to mention the 2000 Mob of roos is also found as a mule where the obverse was struck using the 10 cent obverse die.

And the 2005 Proof Mob of Roos was also a mule error where the 2006 mob of roos reverse proof die was accidently paired with the 2005 obverse proof die. It has been found in less than thirty of the 2006 Proof sets.

For those who are interested in the PNCs.
Australian Post offers subscriptions.

although I occasionally buy some from Bigfella and others,
I always receive my PNCs directly from Australia Post-
It is just that I usually receive them about 6weeks after issue and I am always waiting to check that they arrive.
