With the economy of the world being what it is counterfeit banknotes are abundant

I just picked up  a US $20 and a US$ 100 form local merchants.

Has anyone else run into any of these?

On the later  (current ) American banknotes the ink is magnetic and if you hold any of the new notes up to the light or use a UV light you can read the denomination on the security thread
This is the fastest way.

If you want to look under magnification, then I could list a half dozen ways on each note.
