Welcome to a stroll down memory lane... Looks a lot different, HUH?

Title: New Aussie $1 coin for circulation
Post by: Tobyle on September 22, 2009, 08:06:08 AM
For those interesting in the Aussie dollars, RAM has just announced that the 2009 Centenary of the Commonwealth Age Pension $1 coin has been issued for circulation. I am presuming that RAM will soon have the rolls for sale (as they have been advertised through another source).

I'll get a roll as soon as they are available - so will keep yours aside, Nighthawk ...... then will send your package off (at last).

Anyone else needing any, I'll have a few spares.

Here is a pic of the coins

Will do, Templar. Will let you know as soon as I am able to get hold of the roll. Will phone RAM this morning to see if I can find out when they will be available.

Just for the running tally:

Nighthawk - 2
Templar - 2
Ellekitty - 1
Twoshadows - 1
Coincrusader - 1
Marek - 1

Anna, I will check with Templar tonight, but if you like to save a bit on postage, mail his coins and mine together, since we only live a couple of miles apart, and we belong to the same local clubs, and always see each other at all the local shows. Just an idea.  :)

I just called into local coin shop this morning - they are expecting the rolls in on Tuesday or Wednesday and will keep a roll aside from me. I will have to be heading down to Melbourne for a couple of weeks, so won't be able to pick them up until after that.

Thanks Nighthawk - I was actually thinking about that - thought I would send over a few spares in case anyone else in US is wanting any (I presume CoinCrusader will be wanting one). I'll package up the rest of the coins I have to send you at the same time.

Now I am sure ALL of you are aware of the Indiana Coin and Currency Act of 1802 which requires an example of ALL imported coins and currency be surrendered to the Indiana Authentification Office administrator (ME) in an effort to assure the collectors on the North American continent they are getting authentic pieces as described by the country of origin. (Any body buying any of this?)
And it further states that all Australia one dollar coins or proofs of such be stored PERMANENTLY in the state office (my house) until further notice. You don't want to know the penalty for failure to submit! I am sure it is a horrible price to pay for such a serious violation of the import laws.
So go ahead and put me down for one of those new dollar coins! Any new $1 Kangaroo's or proof Kangaroo's available out of the 2009 or upcoming 2010 series? Got to keep my herd up!!!
Also will be needing the 2010 silver Koala's in both one ounce and half ounce as soon as someone can get their paws on them! Got to have my silver!!! And for some unknown reason I LOVE half ounce coins!!!

It is good that I refresh everyone's memory every few months or so? Numismatic laws are very complex but, as always, I will continue to keep them simple and understandable to all involved. It is the least I can do for such good friends.

Now Nevol and Templar you keep your eyes peeled for anyone who might smell up our moat or castle! Its great to know our Knights and Knightesses are alert and on duty. Let me know if you find such a culprit!!! ;D

Twoshadows,
The 1 oz koala is currently available from Perth Mint, but havn't seen or heard anything about a 1/2 oz one.

http://www.perthmint.com.au/catalogue/2010-australian-koala-1oz-silver-coin.aspx

If you haven't been able to get hold of one by the time I arrive back from Melbourne, I'll see if I can get hold of one.

This is the 2010 silver proof Kangaroo:

I think I found the source of the smell. You guys need to remember to close the door when you're done! And don't forget there's a can of air freshener on the counter-top. 100 knights in this castle, and only 1 potty............ BTW, who's turn is it to clean out the porta-potty???  :)

If someone farts in the forest, and there's no one around to smell it, does it really stink?  (Old Chinese proverb)  ???

You would have to ask one of the masses of fleeing wildlife why they are running out of the woods I suppose?

Sorry to get back on track here, but ........ Will be going to Melbourne for a couple of weeks tomorrow morning - will have only minimal (if any) access to internet, so if anyone else wishes to place an order and I don't respond, please don't think I'm ignoring you - I will get the coins organized as soon as I return.

Hey folks, It's not a good idea to post your addressess here.  ::)

Baaad people may see them!  :o

Pm's are a much safer alternative.

That they may be, but since my postal address is already available to anyone who wants it, I see no reason why to bother with a PM.

Thanks for being helpful!
