You guys in U.S need to find out which bank and be waiting outside with a better offer. Who knows what you could find.

Just to be in theme, 2 summers ago I was in Vienna, 4 years later the pre-euro coins closure, and I found a bus tour in the city withdrawing old Schilling and Groshen, with a so long queue of people giving back again old money ... but I assume also Italy may have same problem ...

I wonder how many wheats and S- mints and pre-1982 bronzes she has in there?  Too bad I canna just buy those 55.000 cents so I can go through them and retire the goodies.

They haven't really been searched, but for the past several years I have checked the reverse to make sure the Lincoln Memorial is there before tossing the cents into the cans or bottles.

The only way anything of possible value might be found would be for me to try and remember which container(s) I filled first -- all those years ago.

If you guys put all those Lincolns back into circulation, they wouldn't have to mint any next year.

ndgoflo,

Between us we have 130,000 cents.  Wow!!

I wonder how many other people hoard their pennies (er, cents)?

It will be up to our kids to decide what to do with mine.  I imagine they will end up at a bank, unless one of the kids has lots of spare time.
