...and I don't know where it came from   I recently found out a guy at work casually colletcs coins, mostly from pocket change. I've kinda taken him under my wing. Been giving him coin publications I'm done reading, have taken him to the coin shop a couple times. And gave him a few coins. Nothin special, some wheaties and few coins from Jamaica and Canada. Today he comes up to me and hands me a flip, and says "Did you give me this?" (He has a really bad memory) I look, and was suprised to see that its a new 2010 Cent!!! He said it was on his kitchen floor! I was kinda excited to see it, lol.
I think the shield design looks better on the coin in person than it did in sketches I've seen.

The envelope was postmarked 25 Jan, so they were certainly available somewhere well in advance of Feb 11.   Wink

Well I got on Ebay tonight hoping to pick up a few rolls for the KOTCT Store and I was shocked at what I found. First off I will say the thieves offering them for sale ought to be ashamed of their greed and the fools bidding have more money than brains. I am still NOT over the shock of the stupidity on both ends.
Now as far as the design is concerned I am also ashamed the United States Mint pays designers and sculpters for nothing. The design lacks depth or any type of imagination. Childish artwork at the expense of the taxpayer and coin collectors. Maybe the end really is near so they don't care?

Are you sitting down? The cheapest I found with a "Buy It Now"price was $5 per roll. You can probably pick up a whole $25 box for around $170! I will be a patient man and wait for my dealer to get some. I will also watch for a few D rolls and hopefully post both in the KOTCT Store.

Wow. They weren't even supposed to have been released untill 11 Feb.

They have been selling on e-bay for a while, by people in Puerto Rico (if I remember correctly).
Apparently they were released there before mainland U.S.A.

Yes. I was thinking that maybe Nancy must have gotten her from one of the Puerto Rican ebayers. They did come out early there.

Maybe its because a penny is STILL big money on some of those poor island nations? That means they need them much more than we nickel people do? Wink

I got it from a member of the 'Mom & Dad' forum, who I think may have sourced a roll from Puerto Rico. He was giving single coins away, and I'm not one to look a gift horse in the mouth.  Grin  Cheesy
He's still giving them away as he got a second roll. 70 gone so far, I s'pose 30 to go.

I was going to take him up on the offer, but AdamL was getting one for me anyway.

Yeah. I'm hoping to get you several from each mint in the near future.
